Unsere Notizen

WVS Italienische nachhaltige / ethische / vegane Zweiteilige Anzugsjacke.

Good quality, but tricky fit and issues with structure

Always on the look out for a decent vegan otr suit.

Fit: 40 in the chest, which I think of as the median for menswear, is large according to the size chart, so I bought that. The large jacket on me (6 ft. tall, average build) had sleeves that were a bit long and was pretty roomy (implied by large, I guess). I got it tailored, and now the fit is good. I bought medium in the pants (34 in), which fit me perfectly. M pants are very standard for slim fit, while the L suit has relatively little drop.

Finish: It looks good. There was some package lint, but the stitching seems good. Honestly, for the price, I don't expect much, but it seems pretty solid. Probably due to fabric weight, it has a better hand than most cotton or blend suits I've had.

Structure: So, here's the weird problem I had. At least for me, I could see the outline of the shoulder pads when I first put it on. I figured maybe this would go away if I got it pressed or even ironed the suit around the shoulders. I asked my tailor about it, and he said that the issue is that the shoulder pads aren't long enough along the length of the shoulders. Part of the issue, too, is that the material may have been poofed out in transit. He showed me how you can just smooth it out and the outline goes away. I suspect this will make do, but if not I may just get the pads taken out. There's not a lot of padding, so I doubt this will change the look much.

Anyway, you can get a good deal here, but it's a little tricky. I was worried that they only offered black and blue--who offers black if they only have two suit colors? But this seems like a good offering, and I haven't seen a better vegan suit at this price point. (Maybe you could get something cheaper made from linen from a traditional tailor on eBay and hope the rest of the details are vegan? But it probably won't look like something you'd wear to the office.)
